What we store, and why

Last updated 31 August 2026

Draft

This is a placeholder written to describe the one form on this site accurately. It is not a finished privacy policy and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It will be replaced before Vacanto handles accounts or CVs.

What the form collects

The waitlist form on the home page is the only thing on this site that stores anything. When you submit it we record:

  • The search text you typed, exactly as you typed it.
  • Your email address, if you chose to give one. The form works without it.
  • Which control you submitted from, so we can tell a search from a sign-up.
  • The page you arrived from, and the user-agent string your browser sends.
  • A keyed hash of your IP address.

The hash is the point of that last one: your IP address is combined with a secret key and stored as an irreversible digest, so we can stop one person submitting the form a thousand times and see how often the same visitor comes back, without ever holding the address itself. Rotating that key permanently severs the link.

What we do with it

Two things. We email you once there are vacancies matching what you searched for — that is the whole reason for asking. And we read the searches in aggregate to work out which jobs to index first, which is why the form accepts a search with no address at all.

We do not sell or share this data, there are no analytics or advertising cookies on this site, and there is no newsletter.

What we do not collect yet

There are no accounts, no logins, and no CV uploads. When those exist, this page will be rewritten before they ship, not after.

Legal basis and retention

Submitting the form is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us. We keep a submission until we have written to you about the launch, and in any case no longer than 24 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our using it. Email hello@vacanto.cz and we will act on it. You also have the right to complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
